good ideas sprout on warm days in february

on an unseasonably warm day in brooklyn (well, for february), jill and i were doodling on our kitchen counter, pondering calligraphy classes and what our handwriting really says about our personalities (it doesn’t: jill’s is pointy, mine is loopy) and we hit upon the following brilliant idea. being both bakers and scribblers, why not combine the two?

it didn’t help that we’d both been at the winter version of the brooklyn flea earlier that afternoon, and were itching to get our hands dirty. it also didn’t help that we are both just plain tired of our 9 to 5s (it is Sunday after all, and the work week unfortunately begins anew tomorrow…). so we embarked on what will be (hopefully!) the beginning of beautiful brooklyn baking careers.

so, please follow as we fight though this mess together. and then this summer, maybe you’ll be able to join us at our first brooklyn flea!
